Selfhood, Secularism, and Philosophy Across Cultures (geophilosophies.org) – Muhammad U Faruque (Spotify)
I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Arvind-Pal Mandair (University of Michigan) and Nathaniel Gallant (Princeton University) of the Geophilosophies Collective for a wide-ranging conversation about my humble intellectual journey from studying economics to being drawn into philosophy by deeper questions of selfhood, identity, and human destiny.
I discussed colonial systems of education, different frameworks for understanding the world, secularism, and a question that continues to shape my work: What (or who) is left out of the story we tell about philosophy?
