Huston Smith taught at the University of Denver and Washington University before he was appointed professor and chair of the philosophy department at MIT. He then moved to Syracuse University, where he was Thomas J. Watson Professor of Religion and Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Philosophy. Huston Smith also served as a visiting professor of religious studies at University of California, Berkeley.
